Abtract:The diaries and memoirs of Lidiya-Chukovskaya brings out a picture of “biography within autobiography” in a unique perspective. As a writer and editor of a publishing house, Lidiya-Chukovskaya musters great courage to live, shoulders extraordinary sense of mission and spares no effort to preserve memories for her contemporaries. In her words, she refuses to cover up historical truth of a specific period and delineates vivid sculpture group of culture masters of Russia and at the same time trace the time’s fading footsteps. Lidiya-Chukovskaya meticulously interweaves the memories of both individuals and collectives together through integrating different genres in the form of double narration in order to reflect the introspective spirit in the culture of Russia.
