Inspired by the Subjects: An Interview with Megan Marshall

Interviewee: Megan Marshall is the author of Margaret Fuller: A New American Life, winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in Biography and Autobiography, and The Peabody Sisters: Three Women Who Ignited American Romanticism, which won the Francis Parkman Prize, the Mark Lynton History Prize, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2006.  Her most recent biography,Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast, which combines memoir and biography in an account of the award-winning American poet who was also Marshall’s professor at Harvard University, was published in February 2017. She is the Charles Wesley Emerson College Professor at Emerson College in Boston where she teaches in the MFA Creative Writing Program.
