Abstract: As a form of biography for a real person, biographical movie should be faithful to historical truth on the one hand and, on the other hand, inevitably involves fiction as an artistic genre. This paper attempts to analyze the features of recent biographical movies under the commercial impact to come to the conclusion that the key to the success of the two movies, i.e. Mei Lanfang and Huo Yuanjia, is the shaping of subject’s body image and the styling creation pattern. This paper also conducts a reflection upon such problems as the consumption of historical figures and the confusion of values in these movies.
Key words: biographical movie, body image, styling movie
