Representing the Self in Grand History in An Autobiography of Wang Meng

Abstract: An Autobiography of Wang Meng performs an individual representation and interpretation of the grand history in the form of self-writing, thus providing a possibility of coping with the relationship between history and literature in biographical literature. This autobiography demonstrates the author’s unique understanding of the relationship among history, truth and individual and, through the prose style and brilliant narrative techniques, conveys an individual contemporary history in the grand history.
