The Value of The Autobiography of Wang Meng in Literary History

Abstract: There is explicit stylistic consciousness in The Autobiography of Wang Meng , the true type of the genre in a matter-of-fact sense. Wang Meng's selection of historical facts and biographical facts in the autobiography helps highlight his personality. The autobiographer's "young Bolshevik" complex and his self-orientation of "bridging the Party and the writers" also make his narrative distinctive compared with the purely intellectual perspective. This narrative not only provides many valuable historical materials for the construction of contemporary literary history, but also enriches the relevant narratives of literary history. It has a predominant value in literary history.
