Abstract: "The Youth Forum on Issues in Modern Life Writing and Studies" took place in the  Center for Life Wrting, Shanghai Jiao Tong University at the end of 2014. Professors and young scholars in the field of biography studies discussed such important issues as the authenticity of modern biography and identity of autobiography, and also explored some issues which cannot be ignored, for instance the function and market of biography, the burgeoning biopics, and digital biography materials. Attendees noted the current status of the development of modern biography in cross-context and cross-genre, which shows the penetrating insight and broad potential of these young scholars.
