Abstract: Ecology and Life Writing is a collection of papers, in which scholars from all over the world present us one of the most inspiring achievements in the field of life writing from intercultural, transdisciplinary and transnational perspectives. By examining different texts of life writing from the ecological dimension, the collected papers practise and extend Dr. Johnson’s notion about the equality of subjects. Meanwhile they re-examine life writing classics and the traditional propositions in life writing. Life writing in light of eco-criticism weakens the historical significance on the part of the subjects in terms of time and concurrently emphasized the importance of space on the part of the subjects.The collected papers also demonstrate the new achievements of Chinese scholars in the field of eco-criticism, exerting a far-reaching influence on interdisciplinary research on life writing.
